Welcome to the Clacton Sevens, the home of 7-a-side football in the Clacton-On-Sea area.
We are now entering our eighth season and will begin on March 11th 2014, running through to July 29th 2014. Sixteen teams will once again battle it out for league and cup glory. There have been changes since last season with four teams leaving. However, demand is higher than ever for a space in Clacton Sevens and I am delighted to say that we have four new teams to replace them and freshen up the leagues; All Blacks, FC Twente Somethings, Making Emile Of It and Olympia Allstars. They will add to what is an already impressive line up and confirms that this really is the only place you would want to play weekly 7-a-side football.
After the success of previous seasons, Clacton Sevens will once again be split across two divisions. The bottom two teams from Division 1 will be relegated to the Division 2. In their place, the top 2 teams from Division 2 will gain promotion. Furthermore, this season all sixteen team will once again take part in the ever popular Clacton Sevens Cup where the Has-Beens are the current holders. With such high competition, this is sure to be the most exciting season yet.
We have many teams who have played 7-a-side before and enjoyed success, as well as new teams raring to go. The full line up is All Blacks, Atomic Jaffas, Emerald Dragons, F Club 7, FC Twente Somethings, FC Vella, Has-Beens, Le Saux Solid Crew, Making Emile Of It, Olympia Allstars, Oranje-A-Tans, Realcelona, Real Sosobad, The Scallywags, Substandard Liege and Tekkerslovakia FC.
What sets Clacton Sevens aside from the rest is our emphasis on honesty and fairness. The aim is to enjoy yourselves but remain competitive and this philosophy has helped build our success in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
